1. Less than 2 weeks old and 360 members already!
As many of you know BlogExplosion.com is less than two weeks old and for all intensive purposes is still brand new. As with any new site launched on the internet BlogExplosion is still unknown but growth has been very encouraging since the original launch.
In the first email sent out last week BlogExplosion had less than 50 members, but as of today the member count has already risen to 360 members! Over the next few weeks we hope to see a minimum of 100 new sign-ups daily which will make BlogExplosion one of the fastest growing blog resources websites on the internet. That means more traffic to all members moving forward where your blog is going to be seen by potentially hundreds or thousands of people each month!

2. I am signed up.. Now how do I get traffic?
We have been watching people posting about coming across BlogExplosion and following with a wait and see to whether the traffic will start coming in. If you login to your account you will definitely see that traffic is already being generated for all members. We have been randomly clicking on the stats buttons that many of you have on your blogs and BlogExplosion is showing up all over the place in your referral logs!
Now for those that are still not sure about how the system works, BlogExplosion is a traffic exchange. You look at my blog and I will look at your blog. Simple, simple -- But it works!
Login and if you look on the left navbar in the members area the top link Surf Members Blogs (in red) when clicked on you will start viewing other member blogs. For every two sites you visit you will earn 1 visitor in return to your blog. Visit 60 member blogs and you will get 30 visitors in return to your blog. It is that simple. By generating exposure to your blog it will mean more people leaving comments and trading links with you over time which helps you generate even more traffic to your blog and improve search engine ratings as well!
So get surfing and watch your blog counter fly as the membership continues to grow quickly here on BlogExplosion. In a relatively short period of time members will be able to expect a minimum of 100 visitors per day to your blogs and watch as activity on your blog grows each and every day.

3. Updated thumbnails for Blog Directory
At launch we were using another third-party solution for the thumbnails of each blog in the Blog Directory. Problem there was that for many blogs there were no thumbnails available so we needed to look for another solution that would not have so many empty thumbnails. We looked all over the internet for a tool to generate thumbnails automatically for us directly from a database so we would not have to do each thumbnail manually, but we could not find any solutions that would fit our needs...
So we had to build custom software that wee could run daily to automate the generation of blog thumbnails and after some serious programming we now have a tool that allows us to generate thumbnails automatically!
Take a look at the BlogExplosion Blog Directory and see we have images for just about every member blog. We run the script once per day to capture the thumbnails for all new members.

Another problem with other Blog Directories is that depending on when you add your blog to any blog directory out there it is likely to be seen less and less when new blogs are added later. In the BlogExplosion directory blogs are not buried by new entries as we rotate the order of blogs in each category. That means for as long as you are a member of BlogExplosion even if you are not actively surfing other member blogs, your blog will be rotated equally in the Blog Directory and will be seen for as long as you are a member of Blog Explosion!

4. Newsletter Archive Now Added
This is new. For new members looking to read old emails that we send out to members we have uploaded a Newsletter Archive.

Not much here since this is only the second email we have sent out but over time this can be a valuable resource to check older emails that we have sent out to our members as there is often valuable information and tips that we include in each newsletter.

We believe that it is important to offer fun/exciting contests and features for members to keep things interesting on BlogExplosion.

7. Refer new members and get referral traffic!
For those who do not have the time to visit other member blogs another way to generate traffic to your blog is by referring other members to BlogExplosion.
Now we saw some members making the mistake of simply linking to BlogExplosion but not using your referral link! By using your referral link that means we can recognize who sent us the new member and can credit you for each referral!
When you refer new members to BlogExplosion you will receive a portion of the traffic they generate for as long as they are a member. Blogexplosion offers 10% of the clicks generated by the people you refer through five levels. So if someone you refer views 100 member blogs you get 10 visitors (10%) to your Blog site too! Remember you earn blog credits for 5 levels of referrals which means you could be getting hundreds of even thousands of free visitors to your blog every month!

As many members are starting to figure out BlogExplosion gives members many different ways to generate traffic to your blog. By clicking on My Banners from the Members Area you can add banners that will be seen by other members and help generate even more visitors to your blogs each day.

From here you can convert un-used credits to banner impressions (Currently 1 credit converts to 50 banner impressions) and we even list how many times your banner has been clicked on with a clickthrough percentage. You can also add a text description to your banner which will be read when a member mouses over your banner. It may take a little time to figure how all the features work but as you get comfortable it definitely means more visitors being delivered to your blog!

9. How to use Directory Bids
If you look at the Blog Directory http://www.blogexplosion.com/directory/ and click on any of the categories you will notice a grey Sponsor Box to the right on the screen. These are NOT paid ads!!!
You can add your own Directory Ad by simply bidding your credits for position and adding your own Directory Ad!
The nice thing here is that as a result of people looking for blogs under that category it means they are probably more interested in blogs of that subject. By creating your own Directory Category ads it means the traffic is geared towards an audience that is interested in that subject content.

10. When can I view blogs only of interest to me?
We have had a couple of members email us asking when they can view member blogs that interest them. Not everyone is for example interested in sports or politics.. Well once we have a large enough member base we will start allowing for members to view only blogs of interest and not see blogs in categories that do not interest you. Based on the current rate of growth we can realistically start looking at that soon and helping make your surfing here more enjoyable as you only look at blogs that you want to see!

11. We need your feedback!
Sorry for such a long email. Make sure to infact give this newsletter a good once over as we tried to answer the majority of topics being brought up by new members. BlogExplosion is meant to be fun and to be a tool that works for members to generate traffic to your blogs. So far the feedback has been VERY good and we appreciate all the support since we launched a short while ago.
But we always appreciate your feedback. What do you like, what do you want to see improved? What additional features do you want us to include moving forward? We will be asking members to help us determine what type of blogs should be accepeted here. We are trying to make sure we do not allow excessive profanity or blogs which contain questionable content... What is questionable content? Who decides on what questionable content is? Lots of issues that we need to tackle as we continue to grow...
BlogExplosion will be a community of people that like to blog and that community will determine what type of guidelines that will be established here. We need your help to guide us to how BlogExplosion should look like and what content will be seen here.
Finally a huge thanks to all of you. We see many of you help promoting BlogExplosion by adding links to us and believe me every little bit helps.
Hopefully it will be a matter of time before we get noticed by the blogging community at large. So a very sincere thanks to all of you doing your little bit to help us grow into a premium resource site for bloggers around the world.
