1. BlogExplosion - Membership has tripled since last update!
BlogExplosion continues to grow at an incredible pace. BlogExplosion now has over 1250 members as of today more than tripling membership since our last newsletter sent out on October 4th. With over 100 new members signing up per day it means all members can get their blogs seen and read by more and more people. Within the next couple of months BlogExplosion will have thousands of members meaning members can expect to see hundreds or even thousands of people visiting their blogs every month! Not bad for our first 3 weeks of being live!

2. Does exchanging views equate to worthless traffic?
We have seen some comments that exchanging views between members does not equate to people actually reading your blog but rather members merely waiting for 30 seconds to get their credit. We have witnessed many blogs on BlogExplosion that have never had comments added to their posts in the past all of a sudden getting comments posted and requests to exchange blog links with over blogs. This is real proof that people are actually reading blogs and not just in it for the traffic. We have made several changes (outlined below) recently and will be making several new feature enhancements shortly to encourage people to read other member blogs and generate real readership over just producing/exchanging blog hits.

3. New features recently added to BlogExplosion!
With the recent success of BlogExplosion we expect to see competition shortly. On the internet whenever a new or decent idea is born it is guaranteed to see other people try to copy it immediately. With that in mind BlogExplosion is continually making updates and launching new features on almost a daily basis to make sure we remain ahead of the pack.
New features/enhancements recently added to BlogExplosion:
a) Member ShoutBox
- Now on BlogExplosion members can chat with each other on our ShoutBox located on the main members page http://www.blogexplosion.com/members/ which includes features like smilies and when clicking on a username members will have their blog displayed with the ability to rate and blogmark blogs each time.
b) Enhancements to add/edit blog list
- Whenever a member adds a blog to their account we have now updated the information available to you to see how you are doing. When you click on the add/edit blog link from the members area http://www.blogexplosion.com/members/my_blogs.php you will now be able to see credits remaining to be delivered, number of clicks to your blog from the blog directory, your blog rating, total number of visits, blog stats, visits from searches and the number of times your blog has been blogmarked! This provides much more information than before about about how your blog is doing and where you are getting traffic from.
c) Updated Blog Directory
- We have made a couple of updates on the BlogExplosion blog directory http://www.blogexplosion.com/directory/ where we now allow members to blogmark sites from the directory meaning that other members can blogmark your blog for later viewing. With other people rating and blogmarking your site it shows that people are actually reading your blog and likely to return to view your blog later down the road.
d) Updated Search
- When you do a search on BlogExplosion from the search box on the top navbar members can now rate and blogmark sites from the search listings! As with the add/edit enhancement mentioned above we also keep track of the number of times people visit your blog from both performing searches and the number of clicks from the blog directory. We track everything for members so they have as many stats available to them as possible giving you an accurate portroyal of how many people are visiting your blog!

4. Over 100,000 blogs viewed already
If you look on the main page of BlogExplosion http://www.blogexplosion.com/ you will see that we have already served over 100,000 visits to member blogs in the first three weeks we have been live! With 100 new members signing up daily it means that this number will continue to grow quickly and some members that are spending some time to visit other blogs are already starting to see 100 or more people visiting their blog daily. With lots of new members signing up to BlogExplosion it means there are new people that are also visiting your blog. If you check out blogs that display the referring pages to their blogs (where people are coming from) you can see that more often than not BlogExplosion is the number one source of traffic in terms of who is sending traffic to your blogs. Does BlogExplosion work? Seems to be.....

5. New features to be launched shortly
One of the complaints we get from members is that some people do not want to see certain blogs with content that does not sit well with them. While we support the idea of freedom of expression we also understand the need to be able to allow members to have a list of blogs that they do not want to visit again. Some features that will be available soon...
a) Do not view list
- Members will be able to flag blogs that they do want to surf again. So if there is a blog with content you do not like or if profanity seems to be excessive on certain blogs, you will soon be able to keep a list of blogs on you do not visit list and will not be shown again in the future
b) Audio Toggle
- Some members listen to music while surfing and have expressed that they would like to not have to view blogs that have music or other audio elements. Soon you will be able to toggle your audio preference so that blogs with music or audio will not be shown
c) View blogs of interest
- As soon as we have enough members we will add the ability to visit blogs in the categories that interest you. So if you are not a big fan of politics etc. you will soon be able to view blogs from only the categories that interest you.
We hope by adding more surfing preferences that members will find surfing more enjoyable and have more control of the blogs they visit. Please be patient as we make the changes needed to make this happen. We respect the wants of members to not view certain blogs and we are working to improve that aspect of BlogExplosion.
c) Country/Nationality Flags
- Members will be able to add what country they are from so when another members looks at your blog from the directory you will have a flag of your country displayed as well. It is always interesting to see where other members are from and it is really interesting to see that people from all over the world are blogging too!
d) Ability to add comments
- Beyond rating and blogmarking members will soon be able to leave comments on other blogs as well. Members will soon be able to leave feedback, make suggestions or just say hello on other members blogs. Again this will lead to members linking to each other more and creating a real sense of community on BlogExplosion.
We have lots of other new features in development so stay tuned as we continue to work on getting everything tested and launched on the site.

6. Things to check out on BlogExplosion
Some quick suggestions of things that you might have missed while using BlogExplosion.
Monthly Blog Lottery - http://www.blogexplosion.com/members/lottery.php
- Use your un-used credits for an opportunity to win the monthly BlogExplosion traffic lottery. Each credit you wager gives you an additional chance to win the monthly traffic pool currently standing at 774 credits for the month of October!

- Whether surfing other member blogs or clicking on banners members can randomly win Mystery Credits while surfing! A bonus screen will come up where you can win anywhere from 2-100 mystery credits at a time. 7. Neat Blog - http://www.blogosphereradio.com
A neat site we came across and enjoyed was BlogosphereRadio.com
We listened to several of their broadcasts and we really enjoyed the broadcasts they have created so far. If you want to relax and hear what is new in the blogging world, the latest blogging news or cool blog resources to check out than we suggest listening to their shows. Really nice people behind the site and they even mentioned BlogExplosion in one of their programs!

8. Help us grow!
We were visiting many member blogs and we see that many members have still not linked to us. Unlike other blog directories that require a reciprocal link we do not make it manditory to do so but it helps us continue to grow and expand the audience available to see your blog. I know it is a bit of a pain to upload a BlogExplosion button or add a link to us on your blog but it is greatly appreciated. You also benefit from doing so...
Remember when you refer new members to BlogExplosion you receive 10% of the credits they earn 5 levels deep. Now some people unfortunately have confused BlogExplosion as being some sort of a pyramid scheme. Not the case. Offering a multi-tiered referral program which does not involve money is not a pyramid scheme at all and many companies have been offering referral programs for years now. By offering a multi-tiered referral program it means a great opportunity for members to generate lots of traffic to their blogs simply by referring new members. There is nothing wrong with that and is certainly NOT a pyramid scheme...

Well that is it for now. The vast majority of member feedback has been very positive and it really motivates us to keep improving BlogExplosion. Some members have asked us the question when will this stop being a free service and when we will start charging for it. The answer there is never. You always see companies that start off as a free service only shortly after to start charging members for certain services and features. Simply stated that is not going to happen here and BlogExplosion will always be a free service that you will be able to enjoy.
