1. BE Radio -- Rocking the Blogosphere
BlogExplosion Radio is now out of BETA and rocking the internet with over 1300 songs in our library that we broadcast online 24-7.

If you are working at the office looking to listen to some music or just chilling out at home then we have a wide range of music to choose from.
Usually internet radio stations historically have not been that good in my own personal experiences, but BE Radio allows listeners to do many things like...

Help promote BE Radio with radio buttons you can add directly to your blog! The best thing is the buttons change dynamically each time a new song plays as well!!
As we worked through the integration process our radio host live365, they immediately indicated that we had one of the best radio executions out there.
This was because we spent the last several weeks scripting and customizing BE Radio to make it the best possible and really pushed some boundaries doing so.
A huge thanks to Lewis and Jen who did the programming and design work to get BE Radio to this point and really make it a great online radio station.
Remember this is a 100% legal radio station as we pay royalties for each song broadcasted. We definitely want to grow BE Radio in the future and plan to integrate additional blogging content, news and other entertaining programming moving forward. You tell us what you want and we will make it happen.
So make sure to tune into BE Radio and listen to some great music while you are online and help promote us by getting our radio buttons up on your blog!

2. Updated BlogTextlinks
Some members pointed out that the mouseovers for blogtextlinks were not displaying correctly as it was sometimes not showing 100% on screen depending on where you placed them on your blog.
We have fixed this problem now.
Now when you click on Get HTML you can choose where the mouseover comes up so you can position the mouseovers to the left or right depending on where you put your blogtextlinks code on your blog.

Good news is that BlogExplosion is displaying anywhere from 275,000 to 450,000 textlinks daily so get your BlogTextLinks posted now on your blog and generate more blog traffic!

3. Vidcasts fully operational
If you are looking for entertaining and wacky content then you really need to check out the BE Podcast and VidCast Directory. We have a growing collection of audio and video content which continues to grow each day!
We approved a bunch of videocasts last week and have them all working now where you can watch and listen to some great content!

We were also approached by VH1 to feature some of their great content just like what you see on TV. Great stuff and I think you will get a real kick with some of the VH1 programming that we have on the site.

Have you heard of RocketBoom? It is a popular daily vlog with Amanda Congdon based in NY that talks about the news each day. Really funny stuff so again check out the updated Podcast Directory and be entertained with all of the new content available to you.

4. Thumbs/Avatars for Podcasts/Vidcasts
More good news for BE podcasters!
Now you can add your image to your podcast much like the way we have thumbnails for blogs. Simply add the url of the image from your add/edit podcast page and you can specify what image you want to use.

Note: If you had an old image there from an existing approved blog you will need to add an image again as we have removed the old system and will have all podcasters use the new avatar system.

5. New Chat System will be live soon
What? New chat system? You gotta be kidding me! Answer - No
After listening to members wanting specific functionality we are in the process of once again installing a new chat system.
- Will it have audio and video? Answer - Yes
- Can you private message people? Answer - Yes
That is all I can say until we can actually get it working on our test servers, but we will be making additional announcements next week. Stay tuned!

6. Updated Battle of the Blogs anti-cheat module
You may notice that Battle of the Blogs now does an IP check for people voting on BOTB. If you have the same IP as a previous voter then you are not allowed to vote on the same battle. This happens when people try to use multiple accounts to rig battles in their favor, so performing an IP check will eliminate some of that abuse.
We are well aware that people out there use proxies to hide their identity as well and we are working on additional security measures to help spot those users as well. This is the last step needed to be done before we can launch the Daily Traffic Lottery and working on it so please be patient with us.

7. BlogCharm Update - 1000 members and growing!
BlogCharm continues to grow with over 1000 members now!
I know many of you are busting like crazy to start getting paid to blog and we will be providing additional instruction before our March 1st launch.
BlogCharm has been getting us alot of emails from interested advertisers and it is a matter of putting all of the parts together right now. Our templates need work, we need additional functionality and we are putting together the ad center (that is the part where you get paid)...
Again we ask for your patience. It is progressing nicely.

8. BlogExplosion v3.0
If you notice we have been making small changes across BE now for the last couple of weeks. There is definitely good reason for this.
We have a top-notch designer doing a complete re-design of BlogExplosion right now that we think will take us to the next level. We have been getting noticed by many large companies wanting to do business with us over the last few months and we need to present a professional site to them and of course for our members.
With BlogCharm coming out March 1st that puts that much more pressure on us to really get it together here. It is busy and the BE is one of the biggest blogging sites on the internet. We struggle with how busy we are some days.
We are a still a small company that pushes ourselves to make BlogExplosion the best it can be. We thank our members for sticking with us as we continue to make improvements each day to the site.
So a new design coming out, new chat system (if we can get it to work) and a complete re-vamp of the features and how they are presented to you to make using BE easier. Lot of work to be done but we are up to the challenge.
A big thanks to everyone including our mods, staff and members that keep us motivated here. Without your help I am not sure how we would manage.
